Ben Sherwood

In April 2024, Ben Sherwood became the Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of The Daily Beast. A veteran media executive, journalist and entrepreneur, Sherwood served as co-chairman of the Disney Media Networks and president of the Disney ABC Television Group from 2014 to 2019, overseeing the company’s global entertainment, news and cable properties. He also worked as president of ABC News from 2010 to 2014, executive producer of Good Morning America and Senior Broadcast Producer of NBC Nightly News 

More recently in 2020, Sherwood founded the award-winning youth sports technology startup MOJO, which was sold to TeamSnap in December 2023. Along the way, MOJO was named one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company and one of the best employers in sports by Front Office Sports. He now serves on the board of directors at TeamSnap. 

In addition, Sherwood is a New York Times best-selling author of Charlie St. Cloud, The Man Who Ate the 747, and The Survivors Club. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and teenage son. His eldest son is a member of the Harvard College class of ‘27.
