September 30, 2009 — The Shorenstein Center sponsored a briefing for journalists on health care reform at the Newseum in Washington, D.C. The event featured two panels moderated by Alex S. Jones, director of the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy:
The first panel was “News Coverage of Health Reform: Metanarratives and the Missing Narratives.” which featured panelists David Broder of The Washington Post; Linda Douglass, White House Office of Health Reform, U. The second panel was “Health Reform: Public Opinion, Polling, Ad Campaigns and Grassroots Mobilization.” It featured panelists Robert Blendon and Theda Skocpol of Harvard University and Kathleen Hall Jamieson from the University of Pennsylvania.
