Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG)

The Behavioral Insights Student Group (BISG) runs events throughout the year for students across the range of interests in behavioral insights and Harvard schools. These include lunch events with speakers who are experts working in the field of behavioral insights, seminars with faculty, and our year-long Experimental Pitch Innovation Competition (EPIC), which gives students the opportunity to attend workshops on running RCTs, experimental design, use of survey software, and ultimately to design and run their own RCT.

The best way to learn about our events is by joining our mailing list. We’ll send you a weekly newsletter with information on events, research opportunities, and job postings.

You can also check out the Shorenstein Center’s upcoming events page, where BISG events will be updated added as they are confirmed.

Finally, you can follow BIG on Twitter, where we post more general updates.

Get involved:

We are always happy to hear from students who want to get involved. You can do so in a few ways:

  • Join the BISG Committee: Meet and engage with like-minded students, and build relationships with faculty, administration and the behavioral insights community. Not to mention it’s a great addition to the resume! Applications open in the first couple of weeks of the fall semester. Positions include, but are not limited to roles in: Communications, Careers, Student Engagement, and Research & Practice. To learn more, contact BIG’s Program Manager Maja Niksic here.
  • Ad-Hoc Opportunities: You do not need to be a committee member to get involved in BISG. BX2016 would not have been possible without the help of our volunteers – many of whom were a part of BISG. We will email out about other opportunities, and if you have any interest in organizing a conference or event, please feel free to email us.
