Filmmakers Take Legal Action against Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment as It Faces “Cash Flow Issues”

Writer Addie Morfoot reports that digital independent film distributor 1091 Pictures faces several legal disputes centered on allegations of missing revenue-sharing payments to filmmakers who sold their films to the platform, now owned by Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment. Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment acknowledges facing “cash flow issues” and is working to address filmmakers’ concerns. Directors are also scrambling to reclaim distribution rights in response to bankruptcy fears.
