Alex Chohlas-Wood

Alex Chohlas-Wood is an incoming Assistant Professor at New York University, and former Executive Director and current Faculty Co-Director of the Computational Policy Lab at Harvard Kennedy School. Dr. Chohlas-Wood has designed and implemented data-driven interventions in a wide variety of criminal justice settings, including as Director of Analytics for the New York City Police Department. At the Computational Policy Lab, his research has focused on the careful application of computational methods to reduce inequality and discrimination in the criminal legal system and beyond. He received a Ph.D. in computational social science from Stanford University, an M.S. in urban informatics from New York University, and a B.A. in studio arts from Carleton College.
