The Anti-Racism Policy Caucus (ARPC) and Anti-Racism Policy Journal (ARPJ) at Harvard Kennedy School are student groups that explore the intersection of anti-racism and policy, the historical impacts of race and colonialism on modern policy making practices, and visions for a just and equitable future. 

Join us for an evening of conversation and community building as we bring together a diverse group of leaders to discuss strategies for developing and implementing an anti-racist agenda in various sectors of modern society. Panelists include:

Erin Genia, Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate, a multidisciplinary artist, educator and community organizer specializing in Indigenous arts and culture.

Chi Ossé, Council Member for New York City’s 36th District, representing Bedford-Stuyvesant and North Crown Heights; elected in 2021 as the youngest member of this Council.

Brittany White, Visiting Practitioner in Residence at the Institute to End Mass Incarceration, and an organizer, strategist, and voice for formerly incarcerated Black women, working on solutions to gun violence and mass incarceration.  

Moderator: Ian Daniel is an Emmy-nominated producer, filmmaker, and journalist; an MC/MPA at HKS and Co-EIC of the Anti-Racism Policy Journal and Co-founder of the Anti-Racism Policy Caucus.

We will explore the ways in which policy and law have enabled forms of spatial violence such as environmental racism, health inequities, public infrastructure inequalities, gentrification, and the prison industrial complex. Together we will share innovative, collaborative solutions to address these issues, with a focus on policy changes, community organizing, grassroots resistance, and art/storytelling for social change.

We are also excited to launch Issue 2 of the Anti-Racism Policy Journal (full publication mid-May). The Anti-Racism Policy Journal is part of the student journals program within the Student Media Initiative at the Shorenstein Center.
