The #Tech4Democracy Showcase and Challenge welcomes all civic tech start-ups and anyone interested in learning more about civic tech. Hosted by the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and co-sponsored by the Shorenstein Center, the spirit of the event is collaborative and celebratory, as students, entrepreneurs and community members showcase their ideas for new apps, web platforms, policies, and programs that leverage technology to improve the quality of democratic governance. Whether you’re curious about how you can benefit from these technologies or you’re a public official looking to bring new technology to your work, attend the Showcase and check out dozens of civic tech demonstrations, prototypes, and displays from students, civic tech startups, entrepreneurs, and others. For the Challenge, a panel of experts and leaders in the local civic tech community will select the best ideas and demonstrations from the Showcase to provide $5,000 in awards to help bring their work to the next level.
Want to demonstrate your civic tech idea, share it with the community and compete for an award? Apply to be a presenter. The deadline for applications is September 27, 2015.
This is a free event. Register to attend.
