The annual Goldsmith Awards, presented by the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School, honors public service journalism that has had an impact on United States public policy and the functioning of government.

The 2024 Goldsmith Awards Ceremony took place on April 3, 2024, in the John F. Kennedy Jr. Forum. We honored six reporting teams (five finalists and one winner) that did the best investigative reporting that has an impact on U.S. public policy in the previous year. The winner of the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting, Hanna Dreier (The New York Times) was announced live during the ceremony.

The ceremony also honored the 2024 Goldsmith Career Award Winner Nina Totenberg. She shared her insights in a “fireside chat” with Shorenstein Director Nancy Gibbs, followed by a brief question-and-answer session with the audience. The ceremony also honored the winners of the year’s Goldsmith Book Prize and the inaugural recipient of a new Goldsmith special citation.
