Senior Fellow, Brookings Institute; Founding Director, Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy

Marvin Kalb, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and Edward R. Murrow Professor of Practice, Emeritus, was the founding Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy from 1987 to 1999. Kalb’s distinguished journalism career encompasses 30 years of award-winning reporting for CBS and NBC News as Chief Diplomatic Correspondent, Moscow bureau chief and anchor of “Meet the Press.” Kalb has authored or co-authored 17 non-fiction books and two best-selling novels. His most recent book, A Different Russia: Khrushchev and Kennedy on a Collision Course, published in December 2024.
