Allison Wan is a Senior Data Scientist at the Shorenstein Center, where she conducts research on the role online media environments and emerging technology play in our social, political, and civic lives. More broadly, she is interested in developing institutional practices that better connect academic research outputs to relevant community stakeholders and practitioners.
Allison holds a PhD in Network Science from Northeastern University, primarily focused on using digital trace data to study political behavior. She has previously served as a Data Consultant for the Boston Area Research Initiative and a Research Fellow at the Burnes Center for Social Change. She is a graduate of Vassar College with a B.A. in Cognitive Science. Outside of the center, Allison teaches ballet at Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and occasionally performs around the Boston area.
