February 26, 2015 — Matthew Baum, Marvin Kalb Professor of Global Communication at the Harvard Kennedy School, writes about his recent research examining global news coverage of the Libyan civil war in The Washington Post. Using data published in 2,252 newspapers in 113 countries, he and Yuri M. Zhukov of the University of Michigan found that “coverage of protest and civil conflict is likely to be ‘one sided’ in both democracies and autocracies, but for different reasons.” Read more…
