Writer Sara Fischer reports that major streaming companies, including Netflix, Paramount+, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max, Comcast’s Peacock, Disney, and TelevisaUnivision’s ViX, have formed the Streaming Innovation Alliance (SIA), to advocate for industry interests in the face of evolving regulations. Led by former policymakers, the alliance aims to ensure differentiated regulatory treatment from user-generated content platforms and address shared challenges. Apple, Amazon, Roku, and Tubi are currently not part of the alliance. The SIA plans to collaborate with other coalitions, emphasizing positive narratives about streaming companies, such as consumer choice, affordability, and diversity.
