A.M. Rosenthal Writer-in-Residence Fellowship

The A.M. Rosenthal Writer-in-Residence fellowship was created in memory of the late New York Times Executive Editor Abe Rosenthal after his death in 2006, to bring professional nonfiction writers to the Shorenstein Center and provide an opportunity for them to do research and work on a specific project, as well as interact with the Kennedy School’s community of scholars and students.

The fellowship was funded by gifts from A.M. Rosenthal’s widow, Shirley Lord Rosenthal, and the Bialkin Family Foundation, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Lauren, the Samuel I. Newhouse Foundation, Peter G. Peterson, the Rattner Family Foundation, Ingeborg and Ira Leon Rennert, Richard E. Snyder, the A. Alfred Taubman Foundation, James D. Wolfensohn and the Wolfensohn Family Foundation.

Nonfiction writers and journalists working on long form book-length projects can apply for a Shorenstein fellowship here. Designation as a Rosenthal Writer-in-Residence fellow is at the discretion of the Shorenstein Center.
