Bob Schieffer has been a reporter for more than half a century and was a part of CBS News for 46 years. Schieffer anchored the Saturday edition of CBS Evening News for 23 years, became the network’s chief Washington correspondent in 1982, and was named anchor and moderator of Face the Nation in 1991. Schieffer has written four books, won numerous awards and covered every presidential race since 1972. He was the 2015-fall 2016 Walter Shorenstein Media and Democracy Fellow.
