Netflix’s “The Diplomat” has brought the high-stakes world of international diplomacy to millions of viewers. But how closely does the drama on screen resemble the reality behind the scenes? Join creator and showrunner Debora Cahn and Emmy-nominated actress Keri Russell, who portrays U.S. Ambassador Kate Wyler, for a conversation with former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power. Moderated by Shorenstein Center Director, Nancy Gibbs, the program will explore how “The Diplomat” brings the work of diplomacy to life, the people and experiences that shape the series, and what the show can reveal about the practice of diplomacy in a period of profound geopolitical change.
