Greg M. Epstein serves as the humanist chaplain at Harvard and MIT, where he advises students, faculty, and staff members on ethical and existential concerns from a humanist perspective. His first book was the New York Times-bestselling Good Without God, and he has been called a “symbol of the transition in how Americans relate to organized religion” (The Conversation). Greg’s multi-award-winning 2024 book “Tech Agnostic: How Technology Became the World’s Most Powerful Religion, and Why it Desperately Needs a Reformation” examines Silicon Valley tech as a moral issue. At Shorenstein, he will explore collaborations across academia, journalism, and popular culture, intended to promote critical thinking and interfaith dialogue around emerging AI technologies that are changing our understanding of what it means to be human.
